Companionship

Older people often become isolated and lonely and lack interaction with other people, which can lead to depression and distress. Our companionship service has been specially designed to help you to stay active, feel part of society and connect with the people around you. This service offers a variety of engaging activities, below are a few examples:

  • Stimulate mental awareness
  • Reminisce about the past
  • Play games and cards
  • Provide reminders for appointments
  • Participate in crafts
  • Stimulation to participate in daily tasks

Dementia Care

When a person with dementia finds that their mental abilities are declining, they often feel vulnerable and in need of reassurance and support. The people closest to them - including their carers, friends and family - need to do everything they can to help the person to retain their sense of identity and feelings of self-worth.
Our carers can help you on a one-to-one basis with all domestic duties that may have become more difficult, as well as providing personal care. Our carer will also be a companion to support you emotionally as well as physically.

Research has proven that people with dementia are able to stay in their own home for longer, if they are treated with respect and motivated to stay active. Our carers are trained to provide specialised dementia care, including:

  • Engage in conversation
  • Aid with reading
  • Play games and cards
  • Accompany to appointments (GP, hospital etc)
  • Accompany to go out (lunch, park, museum etc)
  • Visit neighbours and friends

Respite Care

We know that family carers feel guilty or worry when taking a break, even if just for a couple of weeks, but you can rest assured with Managing Care.

Respite Care from Managing Care allows the family carer and the regular carer to rest easy with the peace of mind that someone is always on hand; that someone is providing care, companionship and taking care of household chores whilst your normal carer is away.

During the Respite Care period, our fully trained Carers will follow existing routines and timetables detailed in an individual care plan that will be produced in conference with you. Existing preferences for medications, meals and eating times, naps and favoured activities will remain unchanged, reducing the stress of change on the person being cared for.

Live-in Care

The live-in care solution from Managing Care is a full-time care solution, where the carer lives-in with the client. This allows you to keep on enjoying living at home, feeling confident and safe knowing that there is always someone around to assist when needed

Our live-in carers offer more than just a task oriented care service. Besides providing personal care, meal preparation and medication reminders, our carers can also offer you companionship by taking you out and about or just have a cup of coffee and a chat.
